Abstract

The similarity between the image taken by the `Photo Machine,? one of the mostimportant revolutions of the 19th century, and the subject of that photograph hasinstalled the photograph in a different position to the other types of art. The period afterphotography provided material that was inevitably used in a conscious way by artists intheir work. Together art and photography paralleled the conception of a new realism inpainting, and affected many artists and artistic movements in a special style. Not simplycopying the photographic image, but also contributing astonishing detail and newsensations to the visual audience. Photography and photographic techniques affected thepictorial traditions of the era (Neo-Classicism, Romantism, Realism, Impressionism,Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop Art and Photorealism),providing pioneers of painting new visions and fresh tastes. An unknown door wasopened for painters and other visual artists.

19. yy.ın en büyük buluşlarından biri olan ?Fotoğraf Makinası?nın elde ettiği görüntüile fotoğrafa konu alınan nesne arasındaki benzerlik, fotoğrafı diğer sanat türleriarasında farklı bir konuma yerleştirmiştir. Fotoğraf sonrası süreçte ise sanatçılarınyapıtlarında bilinçli olarak kullanılan bir metaryal olarak tercih edilmiştir. Sanat vefotoğrafın bu ortak yaşamının başlaması, dönemin gerçekçi resim anlayışına paralelolarak, kendine has üslup oluşturabilmesi ile de bir çok ressam ve akımın tercihiolmuştur. Sadece görüntünün kopyalanması için değil, alışılmışın dışında tatlar vehayret edilecek detayları izleyiciye sunabilmesi için de kullanılmıştır. Fotoğraf vezamanla geliştirilen fotoğraf tekniklerinin, dönemin resim geleneğine aykırı olantutumuna rağmen, yeni ve taze görsel tatlar arayan ressamlar ve akımlar (neoklasizm,romantizm, realizm, empresyonizm, ekspresyonizm, kübizm, fütürizm,dadaizm, sürrealizm, pop art ve fotogerçekçilik) için yol gösterici nitelikte olduğugörülmüştür. Üstelik sanatçıların önünde bilmedikleri, tanımadıkları ve en önemliside görmedikleri bir dünyanın kapıları açılmıştır.
