This study has been made in order to determine the purchasing trends of the local people and herbal shop consumer profiles in the province Muş. The plants which are used and bought by the local people with the aim of food and medicinal purposes have been searched. For this reason, the plant samples have been gathered from the herbal shops; the identification of the plant samples has been made in the laboratory as in genus or species level. Scientific names, local names, botanical traits, distribution in Turkey and the world used parts, active ingredients, usage methods, medical effects and the adverse effects of 83 plant species which have been obtained from the herbal shops have been identified with the help of literature. Questionnaires have been applied to herbal shops (8) and local people (160). The most commonly used medicinal plants with the purchasing trends and the consumer profiles of the herbal shops have been identified. 10 most sold plant taxa by herbal shops have been determined as follow according to their frequency ratios; Mint (Mentha piperita L.), Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), Rosehip (Rosa canina L.), Linden (Tilia platyphyllos Scop.) and Thyme (Thymus spp.) with 100%, Carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua L.) with 87.5%, Senna (Senna alexandrina Mill.) and Sage (Salvia officinalis L.) with 75%, Daisy (Matricaria chamomilla L.) and Stinging nettle (Urtica pilulifera L.) with 62.5%. As a result of the public questionnaire, the customers have been determined to have bought the plant parts with the aim of Respiratory disorders (47.5 %) at most, then for food (32.5 %) and gastrointestinal system disorders (26.3 %). In the result of the research, the customers' most used plants have been determined as; Mint with 94.4 % (Mentha piperita L.), Thym with 82.5 % (Thymus spp.), Linden with 81.9 % (Tilia platyphyllos Scop.), Rosehip with 79.4 % (Rosa canina L.), Sage-Mountain tea with 73.8 % (Salvia officinalis L.), Daisy with 49.4 % (Matricaria chamomilla L.), Ginger with 47.5 % (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), Carob tree with 45.6 % (Ceratonia siliqua L.), Stinging nettle with 36.3 % (Urtica pilulifera L.) and Sahlep with 33.1 % (Orchidaceae family).Key Words: Etnobotany, herbal shop, medicinal plants, questionnaire, Muş.

Bu çalışma, Muş ili merkezinde yer alan aktarlarda, aktarların tüketici profillerinin ve yerel halk satın alma eğilimlerinin belirlenmesi için yapılmıştır. Yerel halkın aktarlardan besin ve tıbbi amaçlı halk ilacı olarak satın aldığı ve kullandığı belirlenen bitkiler araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla Muş il merkezinde bulunan 8 aktardan bitki parçaları temin edilmiş, bitkilerin cins veya tür ölçeğinde teşhisleri laboratuvar ortamında yapılmıştır. Aktarlardan temin edilen 83 bitki türünün latince adları, yöresel adları, botanik özellikleri, Dünya'da ve Türkiye'de yayılışları, kullanılan parçası, etken maddesi, kullanım metotları, tıbbi etkileri ile yan etkileri literatür yardımıyla belirlenmiştir. Aktarlara (8 aktar) ve yerel halka (160 kişi) anketler yapılmış, aktarların tüketici profilleri ile yerel halkın satın alma eğilimleri ve en fazla tükettikleri tıbbi bitkiler belirlenmiştir. Yapılan anket ile aktarlar tarafından en fazla satılan 10 bitki türünün; Nane, Zencefil, Kuşburnu, Ihlamur ve Kekik % 100, Keçiboynuzu %87,5, Sinameki (Senna alexandrina Mill) ve Adaçayı %75, Papatya (Matricaria chamomilla L.), ve Isırgan %62,5 olduğu saptanmıştır. Yerel halk anket araştırması sonucunda ise müşterilerin tıbbi bitkileri en çok solunum sistemi rahatsızlıkları (% 47,5) için, daha sonra gıda amacıyla (% 32,5) ve sindirim sistemi rahatsızlıkları (%26,3) için satın aldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda müşterilerin en fazla kullandığı tıbbi bitkilerin %94,4 ile Nane (Mentha piperita L.), % 82,5 ile Kekik (Thymus spp.), % 81,9 ile Ihlamur (Tilia spp.), % 79,4 ile Kuşburnu (Rosa canina L.), % 73,8 ile Adaçayı (Salvia spp.), % 49,4 ile Papatya (Matricaria chamomilla), % 47,5 ile Zencefil (Zingiber officinale), % 45,6 ile Keçiboynuzu (Ceratonia siliqua L.), % 36,3 ile Isırgan otu (Urtica pilulifera L.) ve % 33,1 ile Salep bitkileri (Orchidaceae) olduğu saptanmıştır.Anahtar kelimeler: Etnobotanik, Aktar, Tıbbi bitkiler, Anket, Muş.
