Education is very important for the humankind to know the environment he lives in, to be aware of the events happening around him and to develop positive attitudes and behaviours against environmental problems. It isn?t possible to have a conscious generation about this topic without well educated, sensitive teachers on environmental issues.The purpose of this thesis is to examine the effects of the environmental science course on junior grade science students attitudes and behaviours towards environment. Project-based learning approach has been adopted in the teaching process.The study group of this research consists of 60 science student teacher candidates from The Department of Elementary Science Education of Niğde University. In the research, as a means of gathering data to evaluate students? knowledge; ?Environment knowledge test? developed by Timur and Yılmaz (2011) and Yavuz (2006), ?Environmental attitude scale? developed by Şama (2003) to evaluate students? attitudes towards environment, ?Environment Behaviour Test? developed by Yavuz (2006) to evaluate students? behaviours and ?Teacher Observation and Product Sufficiency Form? developed by Erdem and Akkoyunlu (2002) to evaluate the projects prepared by the students, were used.When the data were analysed; it was found that there was a statistically meaningful difference in favour of the post test in the comparison of the pre and the post test of the environment knowledge test, environmental attitude scale and environment behaviour test. This difference shows that at the end of the environment knowledge course, there has been an improvement in the knowledge of the students and a positive progress in their attitudes and behaviours.

İnsanoğlu'nun yaşadığı çevreyi tanıması, çevresinde meydana gelen olayların farkına varması ve çevre sorunlarıyla ilgili olumlu tutum ve davranışlara sahip olabilmesi için eğitim çok önemlidir. Çevre konularında eğitimli ve duyarlı öğretmenler olmadan bu konuda bilinçli bir nesil yetiştirmek mümkün değildir.Bu tezin amacı Çevre Bilimi dersinin, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği 3. sınıf öğrencilerinin çevre bilgileri, çevreye karşı tutumları ve davranışları üzerine olan etkisini incelemektir. Dersin işlenişinde proje tabanlı öğrenme yaklaşımı benimsenmiştir.Bu araştırmanın çalışma gurubu Niğde Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Bölümü Fen Bilgisi Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı 3. sınıfta öğrenim gören 60 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır.
