After the free gingival graft is removed, the open wound area of the palate is left for secondary healing; and depending on the size of the wound, the healing of this area takes at least 2 to 4 weeks. Some patients may experience problems such as pain, bleeding, discomfort, delayed recovery. In soft tissue healing, it is stated that platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) stimulates wound healing because it contains growth factors. Ozone is a natural gas molecule composed of three oxygen atoms. It is applied to the wound through a special head and it releases cytokines and interferons which are effective in wound healing. Collagen is a natural membrane extracted from the connective tissue of animal source dermis. Its open-pore 3D structure allows the platelets to accumulate and stabilizes the blood clot. Essix retainer is a thermoplastic material used for stabilization after the orthodontic treatment. Low-level laser applications allow oxygen and immune system cells to easily reach to the wound area by causing vessel vasodilation. Based on these studies that were conducted, we evaluated the effects of PRF, ozone, collagen, laser and essix retainer methods, applied to the palates of patients during FGG operation in order to lessen discomforts such as bleeding and pain and to speed up the healing of the donor site, on patient comfort and healing. applications on the palate area during the operation of patients with FGG indications in order to and the improvement of patient comfort, in order to reduce possible complaints such as bleeding and pain after the operation of the patients and to accelerate healing of the donor site. Grafts of 9x11 mm in length and 1-1.5 mm in height were harvested from the palates of 60 patients. The palates of the patients in the first group of a total of 6 10-patient groups were left to secondary healing. PRF was applied to the second group of patients, collagen sponge was sutured to the third group of patients, the fourth group of patients wore Essix Retainers, laser treatment was applied to the fifth group and ozone treatment was applied to the sixth group of patients. Patients were asked to come for follow-up in the first three days, 7th day, 14th day, 1st month and 3rd month after the operation. The pain, number of analgesics used, changes in the eating habits, burning sensation, erythema, edema and inflammation were evaluated through visual analogue scale (VAS) by observing and asking questions. Epithelization was examined through hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) decomposition method. At the end of 7th day, the group with the most epithelization was the PRF applied group; although statistically non-significant except for the 5th day, pain was observed the most in the control group. The highest number of analgesics used was found in the control group. Burning sensation was observed the least in Essix Retainer group; no statistically significant differences were found between the groups in terms of bleeding, edema and inflammation. Regarding the patient comfort, the group to which the PRF membrane is applied, is found to be most effective.

Kollajen, hayvan kaynaklı dermis bağ dokusundan elde edilen doğal bir membrandır. Açık gözenekli 3 boyutlu yapısı trombositlerin toplanmasını sağlar ve kan pıhtısını stabilize eder. Essix plağı ortodontik tedavi yapıldıktan sonra stabilizasyon için uygulanan termoplastik materyaldir. Düşük doz lazer uygulamaları damarların vazodilatasyonuna yol açarak oksijen ve bağışıklık sistemi hücrelerinin kolayca yara bölgesine ulaşımını sağlar. Yapılan çalışmalara dayanarak hastaların operasyon sonrasında oluşan kanama, ağrı gibi olası şikayetlerini azaltmak ve verici sahanın iyileşmesini hızlandırmak amacı ile SDG endikasyonu konulan hastaların ameliyatları sırasında damak bölgesine uygulanan TZF, ozon, kollajen, lazer ve essix plağı uygulamalarının iyileşmeye ve hasta konforuna olan etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmaya dahil edilen 60 hastanın damağından 9x11 mm boyutlarında 1-1,5 mm kalınlığında greftler alınmıştır. 10'ar kişiden oluşturulan 6 grupta ilk grubun damağı sekonder iyileşmeye bırakılmıştır. 2. gruba TZF, 3. gruba kollajen sünger süture edilmiş, 4. gruba essix plağı yerleştirilmiş, 5. gruba lazer, 6. gruba ozon uygulanmıştır. Hastalar operasyon sonrası ilk 3 gün, 7. gün, 14. gün, 1. ay ve 3. ayda kontrole çağırılmıştır. Ağrı, yeme alışkanlıklarındaki değişiklik, yanma, eritem, ödem, enflamasyon ve kullandıkları ağrı kesici sayısı, sorular sorularak ve gözlem yapılarak visual analogue scala (VAS) ile değerlendirilmiştir. Epitelizasyona hidrojen peoksitin (H2O2) köpürmesi yöntemiyle bakılmıştır. 7. günün sonunda epitelizasyonun en fazla olduğu grup TZF uygulanan grup olarak bulgulanmıştır, ağrı en fazla (5. gün haricinde) istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmasa da kontrol grubunda gözlenmiştir. En fazla kullanılan ağrı kesici sayısı kontrol grubunda kaydedilmiştir. Yanma hissi en az essix plağı grubunda görülmüş; kanama, ödem ve enflamasyon açısından gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar bulgulanmamıştır. Hasta konforu açısından TZF membranın uygulandığı grup en etkili bulunmuştur.
