Abstract

VIII ABSTRACT This study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of two different rations on the growth of catfish (Clarias lazera Cuv. et Val. 1840) with different stocking rates. The Study was conducted in 6 cement basins of same size (1.0 x 5.0 x 0.70 m) with the stocking rates of xO, 20 and the growth and development characteristics were determined under two different rations. The results with respect to lenguh and live weights indicated that 10 and 20 stocking rates in the art i facial ration were found to be similar but significantly different from the other groups. The 30 stocking rote group In the artificial ration and the 10 and 20 stocKing rates in the live food were found to be similar among themselves but were significantly different from the 30 stocking rate of live feed group. For artificial groups, food consumption Qnd food conversion rates were less the other groups but all the groups were found to be similar with respect to condition scores.
