The purpose of this study is to develop science process skills scale for 60-72 months old children and to examine the effect of science program based on brain-based learning on science process skills. Depending on this purpose, firstly validity and reliability studies of science process skills scale for 60-72 months old children were conducted and then pre-test post-test control group experimental design was used to examine the effect of science program based on brain-based learning.For scale development study, 53 items generated by the researcher were investigated by 3 teachers and 4 academicians and then the items were evaluated by utilizing Lawshe's technique. The scale was applied to 265 children aged 60-72 months who attend kindergartens in Istanbul city, districts of Kadıkoy, Besiktas, Atasehir and Umraniye in 2012-2013 school year. For construct validity, the factor structure of the scale was examined and by using varimax rotation technique, an analysis was conducted to decide whether the data was suitable for factor analysis. KMO and Barlett's tests were used for this reason and the test result was found as .80. As the result of factor analysis, it was found that the scale comprised of 4 factors. It was decided to remove 22 items as the result of exploratory factor analysis. For the analysis regarding reliability of the scale, first Kuder Richardson coefficient was calculated. For the test-retest reliability of the scale, the scale was applied to 45 students for 3 weeks apart and the correlation between the scores was calculated. According to this, it was found that value of the scale was .90 at the first factor, .86 at the second factor, .82 at the third factor, .75 for the fourth factor and .84 for entire scale. It was also found that test-retest reliability was .96 at the first factor, .87 at the second factor, .64 at the third factor, .78 for the fourth factor and .89 for entire scale. In 8-week-long experimental study conducted with the aim of examining the effect of science program based on brain-based learning on science process skills, the participants were 28 six years old children who attend kindergartens at Faik Resit Primary School in Istanbul city, Kadikoy district in 2013-2014 school year. 14 of these children are in experimental group and 14 of them are in control group. Experimental and control groups were determined by selecting students randomly from two classes. To determine whether the groups differ in their science process skills, `Preschool Science Process Skills Scale` was used as pretest. During the research, 3 days a week one activity was implemented to experimental group and 1 day a week the program of Ministry of National Education was implemented to control group by the researcher. Before the implementation of the program, the science process skills scores of the children in experimental and control group were compared through pretest and as the result of Mann-Whitney U test, it was found that there was no significant difference between experimental and control group at all four subscales (prediction-deduction-communication, measurement, classification, observation) and at the scores of the children got from the entire scale.As the result of Wilcoxon test which was done to determine the difference between pretest and posttest scores of the science process skills of the children in experimental group, a significant difference was found at all four subscales (prediction-deduction-communication, measurement, classification, observation) and at the scores of the children got from the entire scale in favor of the posttest scores. According to the result of Mann-Whitney U test which was done to determine the difference between pretest and posttest scores of the science process skills of the children in control group, there was no significant difference at all four subscales (prediction-deduction-communication, measurement, classification, observation) and at the scores of the children got from the entire scale in favor of the posttest scores. As the result of Mann-Whitney U test which was done to determine whether posttest scores of experimental and control group differ significantly, it was found that there was a significant difference at all four subscales (prediction-deduction-communication, measurement, classification, observation) and at the scores of the children got from the entire scale in favor of experimental group.Follow-up test was implemented to both experimental and control group 3 weeks after the program ended. As the result of Wilcoxon test which was done to determine whether posttest and follow-up test scores of the children in experimental group differ significantly, there was no significant difference between their posttest and follow-up test scores. Likewise, according to the result of Wilcoxon test which was done to determine whether posttest and follow-up test scores of the children in control group differ significantly, there was no significant difference between their posttest and follow-up test scores. As the result of Mann-Whitney U test which was done to determine whether posttest scores of the children in experimental group differ by gender, it was found that there was no significant difference between the scores and gender. According to these results science process skills scale has validity and reliability and science programme based on brain based learning is effective and after 3 weeks permanent. The results on experiment group not show diffence to gender.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, `60-72 Aylık Çocuklar İçin Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri Ölçeğinin Geliştirilmesi ve Beyin Temelli Öğrenmeye Dayanan Fen Programının Bilimsel Süreç Becerilerine Etkisi` nin incelenmesidir. Bu amaca bağlı olarak öncelikle 60-72 Aylık Çocuklar İçin Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri Ölçeği'nin geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması yapılmış daha sonra Beyin Temelli Öğrenmeye Dayanan Fen Programı'nın etkisini araştırmak için öntest sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın ölçek geliştirme aşamasında araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan 53 ölçek maddesi okul öncesinde 3 öğretmen, alan uzmanı 4 akademisyen tarafından incelenmiş ve Lawshe Tekniği dikkate alınarak ölçek değerlendirilmiştir. Ölçek, 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ili, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Ataşehir, Ümraniye ilçelerinde anasınıfına devam eden 60-72 aylık 265 çocuğa uygulanmıştır. Yapı geçerliği için ölçeğin faktör yapısı incelenmiş, ilk önce varimaks eksen döndürmesi tekniği ile verilerin faktör analizine uygun olup olmadığı sınanmıştır. Bunun için yapılan KMO ve Barlett testi sonucunda test sonucu .80 bulunmuştur. Yapılan faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin 4 faktörden oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda 22 maddenin çıkarılmasına karar verilmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirliğine ilişkin yapılan çalışmada önce Kuder Richardson katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Daha sonra, ölçeğin test tekrar test güvenirliği için ise, 45 öğrenciye 3 hafta arayla ölçek uygulanmış ve puanlar arasındaki korelasyon hesaplanmıştır. Buna göre ölçeğin KR 20 değeri birinci faktörde .90, ikinci faktörde .86, üçüncü faktörde .82, dördüncü faktörde .75, ölçeğin tümü içinse .84 olarak bulunmuştur. Test tekrar test güvenirliği ise, birinci faktörde .96, ikinci faktörde .87, üçüncü faktörde .64, dördüncü faktörde .78, ölçeğin tümü içinse .89 olarak bulunmuştur. Böylece ölçeğin geçerli ve güvenilir olduğuna dair kanıtlar elde edilmiştir.Beyin Temelli Öğrenmeye Dayanan Fen Programının Bilimsel Süreç Becerilerine Etkisi'ni incelemek amacıyla yapılan 8 haftalık deneysel çalışmada ise, 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Kadıköy ilçesindeki Faik Reşit Unat İlköğretim Okulu'nda anasınıfına devam eden okulun iki şubesinden 28 altı yaş çocuğu ile çalışılmıştır. Bu çocukların 14'ü deney, 14'ü kontrol grubunda yer almaktadır. Çocukların 7'si kız, 7'si erkektir. Aileleri orta sosyo-ekonomik düzeydedir. Deney ve kontrol grupları ise iki şubedeki öğrenciler arasından random olarak seçilerek belirlenmiştir. Grupların bilimsel süreç becerileri açısından program uygulanmadan önce farklılık gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek için öntest olarak `Okul Öncesi Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri Ölçeği` uygulanmıştır. Deney grubuna 8 hafta boyunca haftada 3 gün 1 etkinlik uygulanmış, araştırma süresince kontrol grubuna da aynı süre boyunca haftada 3 gün araştırmacı tarafından MEB 2013 programı uygulanmıştır. Program uygulanmadan önce, deney grubunda yer alan çocuklarla kontrol grubunda yer alan çocukların bilimsel süreç becerileri puanları öntestle karşılaştırılmış, yapılan Mann Whitney U testi sonucunda dört alt boyutunda (tahmin-çıkarım-bilimsel iletişim, ölçme, sınıflama, gözlem) ve çocukların ölçeğin tümünden aldıkları puanlar arasında deney ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Deney grubunda yer alan çocukların öntest ve sontest bilimsel süreç becerileri puanları arasındaki farkı belirlemek amacıyla yapılan Wilcoxon testi sonucunda dört alt boyutta (tahmin-çıkarım-bilimsel iletişim, ölçme, sınıflama, gözlem) ve çocukların ölçeğin tümünden aldıkları puanlar arasında sontest lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Kontrol grubunda yer alan çocukların öntest ve sontest bilimsel süreç becerileri puanları arasındaki farkı belirlemek amacıyla yapılan Mann Whitney U testi sonucunda dört alt boyutta (tahmin-çıkarım-bilimsel iletişim, ölçme, sınıflama, gözlem) ve çocukların ölçeğin tümünden aldıkları puanlar arasında sontest lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. Deney grubunda yer alan çocuklarla kontrol grubundaki çocukların bilimsel süreç becerileri ölçeğinden aldıkları sontest puan ortalamaları anlamlı şekilde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek üzere yapılan Mann Whitney U testi sonucunda, dört alt boyutta (tahmin-çıkarım-bilimsel iletişim, ölçme, sınıflama, gözlem) ve çocukların ölçeğin tümünden aldıkları puanların deney grubunun lehine anlamlı şekilde farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Deney ve kontrol gruplarına yapılan sontest bittikten 3 hafta sonra her iki gruba da izleme testi yapılmıştır. Deney grubunda yer alan çocukların sontest ve izleme testi puanlarının anlamlı şekilde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek üzere yapılan Wilcoxon testi sonucunda, sontest ve izleme testi puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Aynı şekilde kontrol grubunda yer alan çocukların sontest ve izleme testi puanlarının anlamlı şekilde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek üzere yapılan Wilcoxon testi sonucunda, sontest ve izleme puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Deney grubunda yer alan çocukların sontest puanlarının cinsiyete göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek üzere yapılan Mann Whitney U testi sonucunda cinsiyete göre puanlar arasında anlamlı bir fark görülmemiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre okul öncesi bilimsel süreç becerileri ölçeğinin geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu, uygulanan beyin temelli öğrenmeye dayanan fen eğitimi programının etkili olduğu, elde edilen sonucun 3 hafta sonra da kalıcı olduğu ve deney grubunda elde edilen sonucun cinsiyete göre farklılaşmadığı saptanmıştır.
