Abstract

When the socıetıes are examined, it is seen that individuality is at the forefront and individuals are faced with some psychological problems. Undoubtfully, love and affection take the first place among the main elements that connect individuals and society. Because, for the society to be peaceful, individuals must treat each other with love and affection. That is where the Qur'an comes into play and states how love and affection among people should be. The affection, which is considered as the emotion that connects people, and which can be explained in terms of outward aspects, maintains its importance among the concepts of the Qur'an. Therefore, the subject of our thesis has been the concept of affection. The aim of the Qur'an is to give human education based on love and compassion and to direct human to his essence, his creator through this education. In the thesis, I studied on the concept of affection in the Qur'an. The definition and semantic analysis of the concept of affection was performed in the Qur'an. What the concept of afection means in the hadiths was emphasized, in addition antonyms and synonyms of the concept was mentioned. Moreover, the concept of affection has been discussed in religious and Islamic sciences. Finally, the people who Allah loves and dislikes were examined in the context of verses.
