In this master thesis, humanitarian intervention, human rights, R2P and sovereignty are discussed and the Darfur conflict is tried to be clarified as a case. According to our thesis, humanitarian intervention is supposed to be ordinary and for this reason intervention of the states to sovereignty is normal. However, it should be noted that national sovereignty is a very important value because the sovereignty of states is fundamental in the international system. The damage of national sovereignty can cause the destruction of international stability. Especially this will affect states that have gained sovereignty in the post-colonial period. It is clear that western states are strong and they are acting more coordinated in the international system. In any case, it is very unlikely that these states will be subjected to humanitarian intervention. It should be considered that the intervention issue can be against the societies other than western societies in particular. These states and especially their governments refuse any intervention to their sovereignty These states are part of the international system although they are not as powerful as western states. These states are important components of the international order if their sovereignties are respected. It should be noted that the intervention to sovereignty can damage international stability and that the possibility of intervention could also be a tool for western societies to dominate other societies. Such a situation should be disscussed at least. Keywords: Humanitarian Intervention, Sovereignty, Human Rights, R2P, Darfur.
