Because of the empirical evidence on high levels of anxiety and underachievement in mathematics students, the need for the reconsideration of the teaching methods becomes more evident.In the present study, the main aim is to investigate the effects of the lessons plans, prepared using some alternative assessment techniques and based on the multiple intelligences approach, on the students? mathematics achievement, attitudes, recall and metacognitive skills.The study uses a pretest- posttest with control group design. Population space is defined as the Istanbul Ataşehir 30 August Primary Education School. The sample space is chosen as 120 students studying in the sixth grade.The pretest scores were used to verify that the levels of knowledge of all groups of students are equal prior to the intervention. At the end of the intervention a post test was delivered to all groups whose content covered all the subjects that were taught during this period. Other data collection instruments are:-Multiple intelligences inventory with a satisfactory reliability coefficient, the aim of which is to measure students? levels of intelligences which the inventory intends to measure.-Mathematics achievement tests in the forms of a pretest, post test and a test measuring the level retention.-Personal information inventory.-Mathematics attitude inventory.-Metacognition scale.The experimental groups received teaching based on the lesson plans based on the multiple intelligence approach and the control groups were taught with the traditional method. Experiment-2 and Control-2 groups were applied some of the alternative assessment methods developed by the researchers. Experiment-1 and Control-1 groups were applied traditional assessment method.Data were analyzed using the SPSS 15.00 computer software.The findings of the research;-There is an increase in the achievement levels.-There is a significant positive improvement in their retention levels.-There is a significant positive improvement in their metacognitive skills.-There is a significant positive improvement in attitudes towards mathematics.

Günümüzde, ilköğretim çağı öğrencilerinin genelinde bulunan matematik kaygısı, matematik derslerindeki başarı düşüklüğü; öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerinin yeniden yapılandırılmasını gerekli kılmıştır.Bu çalışmada çoklu zekâ kuramıyla öğretimde bazı alternatif değerlendirme teknikleri kullanımının öğrencilerin matematik başarı, tutum, hatırlama ve üst biliş becerilerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırma ön test- son test kontrol gruplu modeldedir. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul İli Ataşehir İlçesi 30 Ağustos İlköğretim Okulu? nun 6.sınıflarında okuyan 120 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, deneklerin seçimi ve uygulamadan önceki bilgilerinin eşit olup olmadığını ölçmek için ön test uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonrasında, araştırma uygulaması süresince anlatılan konuları da içeren son test uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında güvenilirlilikleri de test edilen; öğrencilerin hangi zeka türünde baskın olduklarını keşfetmek için Çoklu Zeka Envanteri, ön test, son test ve hatırlama testleri olmak üzere ?Matematik Başarı Testleri?, kişisel bilgilere ulaşmak için ?Kişisel Bilgiler Anket Soruları?, öğrencilerin bilişötesi öğrenme stratejilerini ölçmek için üst biliş ölçeği, ayrıca öğrencilerin matematik dersine ilgilerini ölçmek için ?Matematik Tutum Ölçeği? uygulanmıştır.Deney gruplarına araştırmacı tarafından Çoklu Zeka Kuramıyla hazırlanan ders planları ile kontrol gruplarına ise geleneksel metotla öğretim yapılmıştır. Deney-1 ile Kontrol-1 gruplarına geleneksel değerlendirme yöntemi, Deney-2 ile Kontrol-2 gruplarına ise araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bazı alternatif değerlendirme yöntemleri uygulanmıştır.Araştırma verilerinin SPSS 15.00 paket programı kullanılarak analizleri yapılmış ve yorumlanmıştır.Araştırma sonuçlarına göre,-Öğrenci matematik başarıları pozitif yönde etkilenmiştir.-Uygulanan yöntemin geleneksel öğretim metoduna göre öğrencilerin hatırlamaları üzerinde olumlu etkisi olmuştur.-Öğrencilerin üstbilişsel becerileri pozitif yönde farklılaşmıştır.-Öğrencilerin matematik tutumları pozitif yönde farklılaşmıştır.
