The subject of this research study concerns Conservation Planning in Museums with Çorum Museum being selected as a case study. An extensive rehabilitation programme being undertaken by Çorum Museum, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was systematically examined. Factors to be included in the museum's protection planning practices, such as the condition of the museum building, storage and display facilities, environmental conditions, museum personnel, visitor management, security and risk control, were considered in terms of the method and materials used. Problems were identified, alternative protective measures were developed and undertaken. Procedures for continuing the plan were implemented. Measurements of the museum environment, such as temperature, Relative Humidity and light measurements were documented for a year. At the beginning of the study and in the period of implementation, the publications related to conservation planning and conservation planning applications in museums were studied and the conservation plans of museums examined. As a result of this study, it became clear that the selection and use of the materials used in the restoration and rehabilitation of museums directly affected the preservation of the finds; in addition, finds were damaged in the absence or breakdown of devices that control environmental conditions. The lack of conservation experts in the planning and implementation team caused unforeseen problems. For this reason, it is necessary that conservation should be included with other related disciplines in a collective study aimed at planning and implementing museum protection plans. These plans should be continuously updated, based on the results obtained from close monitoring.
