When the cars spend in traffic to park and search for parking, the world's oil resources are used more and more every day. Parking problem is one of the important reasons of traffic congestion, but with the increase in the number of vehicles, the parking areas in the cities become insufficient. The rapid growth in the number of vehicles worldwide is the reason for the rapid increase in the lack of parking space. As the global population moves to urbanization, the problem will be rapidly increasing in many countries unless the need for vehicle use is reduced. In the present case, unmanaged parking lots and transport facilities make it difficult to manage the number of vehicles in a proper way, and therefore the need for intelligent parking systems is increasing rapidly. Intelligent parking management systems are the easiest and simplest to help drivers reduce the time they spend in traffic and reduce park-seek times. In the first chapter, it is explained in detail why intelligent parking systems are needed. Emphasizing the examples of these systems in the world, earlier examples of these systems are mentioned. The sensor structures that constitute the basic structure of these systems are mentioned and their examples are briefly explained. In the second chapter, the benefits of intelligent parking systems and the disadvantages encountered in these systems, the improvements made to the parking systems that are already used are emphasized. It also touched upon the user demographics of these systems. The problems and solutions that will be created by the use of these systems are emphasized. In the third chapter, the hardware and software contents of the SmartPark Intelligent Parking Support Application that we have developed are explained and a system design, modeling and development stages that provide real-time parking information and support to our users have been examined. The architecture of the system and the algorithm behind this architecture are explained and it is planned to build an exemplary structure for the studies in this field and to be explained in detail. In the fourth chapter, the results of a test on the results of a system design that provides real-time parking information and support to our users by using our application are explained graphically. Then, the results and recommendations we have made from this system have been emphasized.
