Abstract:

In a period when the state was in turmoil in the second half of the 17th century, the Köprülü family, which made its mark in the field of science, literature and administration, took over the absolute authority. Kars Seraskeri Abdullah Pasha, a member of the Köprülü family, took part in various duties in order to ensure the authority of the stateand always wanted to be in the services with his sword and pen. Throughout his life, he made a slogan of collecting science and on this occasion he wrote various works. Köprülüzâde Abdullah Pasha had a fair, poet and brave personality. He is a statesman who has been frequently mentioned by the foundations he has established. It is seen that he wrote various poems, especially thanks to his love for Arabic poetry. Poetry magazines reflecting the structure of our tradition reveal many of our poets and poems. We have identified three ghazals belonging to Abdullah Pasha in one of these magazines and in a journal registered in Melih Cevdet Manuscripts K.249 in the Istanbul Atatürk Library. It is seen that Abdullah Pasha has poems he wrote in ghazal form in additionto the kasides he wrote. Thanks to this magazine, welearned the pseudonym that our poet used in poetry. In our study, after discussing the life and works of our poet, we will try to reveal in formation about the literary personality of the poet through poems by introducing the ghazels with the translation writing alphabet.
