Abstract:

Leisure time is defined today, different from its first usage, as the time period which is out of individuals working time. Thus, it is possible to claim that working as a great effect and even it has the power to determine the leisure time. But, the leisure time which is defined by working, is a concept not only effects the indivuals but also all the members of the society. On the other hand, leisure time, has been led to consuming in order to take the current ruling economic system under guarentee. In other words, the leisure time, defined by the system, has been manipulated for proning the permanence of the system by containing the consuming processes. The purpose of this article is to propose a new term “the manipulation of leisure time” to the labour relations and labour sociology literature.and to show the relation between the manipulation of Leisure Time and working in a theoretical framework.
