Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: The sampling of our research is consisting of 89 municipalities. We researchedthe socio-economic factors which may have some impact on the sophistication ofm-government levels of those municipalities. Except transparency and qualitymanagement systems other factors are found to be effective. On the other handthe quantity of more sophisticated service provisions is low. Besides, out of 2951municipalities only 89 (3.01 %) were providing m-government applicationsduring the time of research. This may be interpreted that most of the Turkishmunicipalities are not aware of the promise of m-technologies. The sophisticationlevel of private sector, banks in particular and the high take-up rate of these bythe customers can be good examples for municipalities.METHODS: RESULTS: CONCLUSION.
