Abstract:

Throughout history, energy has been, and continues to be, one of the main drivers for human survival. In its simplest form, the increasing demand for energy underpins life itself. Life is nothing but a continuous process of energy conversion and transformation. The increasingly efficient and comprehensive use of various forms of energy to enhance human capabilities and creativity is an important part of human achievement. The historical development of energy is an indicator of human creativity, adaptability and continuous development. Each stage of this development has brought about significant changes in the way energy resources are used and managed, reflecting changes in the social, technological and environmental spheres. In the early ages, people used fire, wind and water mills to meet their needs. In the 18th century, with the industrial revolution in England, the transition to coal-fired steam engines played an important role in the industrial production process. Later, with the discovery of oil, the energy needs of modern societies were largely met. In the 20th century, energy sources diversified with the emergence of renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric, nuclear and solar. Finally, the transition to sustainable and renewable energy sources, which is the focus of the 21st century, reveals the ability of humans to adapt to these sources. In other words, the historical development of energy reveals humanitys journey from primitive energy sources to the advanced systems that power modern society. This study examines the historical development of energy and its impact on humanity from a unique perspective. Throughout history, the discovery and use of energy has played a critical role in the development of civilizations and will continue to do so in the future. The adoption of sustainable energy solutions is not only environmentally but also economically and socially important. Leaving a more livable world for future generations depends on the steps we take today. The historical development of energy will contribute to the sustainable progress of humanity by learning from the mistakes of the past and creating innovative solutions for the future. In this context, understanding the historical journey of energy is vital for developing strategies for the future.
