Abstract:

In the context of this study, the use of anaphoric elements in the French Constitution, which is a legal text in its nature, was examined. The linguistic constructions referred to as anaphora were searched on both sides (FrenchTurkish) and tried to determine how often these structures were used in the constitution. It was researched how the elements used in the text are translated into Turkish and discussed on their current translations. The purpose of this research is to try to show what kind of anaphoric elements the lawmakers apply to when preparing a constitutional text, to what extent the translator is faithful to these elements in the translations, and what translation method is applied in the transfer of the text to the target language. Can the elements in the French text be translated to Turkish in the same form? Are there the same structures in both languages, and are they overlapping at the grammatical level? Did the translator consider them in the translation process? These questions are tried to be answered in this paper.
