Abstract:

"Israel began settlement activities after its occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1976, and settlement strategies passed after this year in four basic eras, the first era was between 1967 and 1977, the era of the almerakh). The gathering of Labor Party and Mapam (Party were on top of power in Israel, during this era their strategy represent the views of the party leaders, such as the Allon project, which calls for the settlement of safe areas, and the Dayan project for economic integration Settlement in safe areas, , and the second era was during the Likud period from 1977 to 1993, and the settlement policy during this era was depending on principle that the right of the Jewish people to the ""Land of Israel"" is not subject to appeal, and that settling these lands is a confirmation of this right Which is based on religious foundations, not on security or economic foundations only, and relied in implementing this strategy on the two projects of Sharon (the double backbone) and the Gush Amunim which is an extremist right wing movement, project, and the Druplus plan. As for the third era from 1993 to 2002, the pace of settlement increased several times, despite That one of the foundations of the negotiation was the two-state solution, which means dismantling the settlements at the end of the negotiation process, and the main feature of expanding the settlement project during this period was the intensification and increase of the number of settlers. Without establishing new settlements, but expanding the existing ones. As for the fourth era from 2002 to 2018, settlement expansion took place under the auspices of the separation wall, and after completing the construction of the separation wall, Israel controlled about (9.5%) of the Palestinian lands that came inside the wall, and Israel effectively annexed (80%) Of the settlements inside the wall, in addition to the settlers beginning to establish what are known in Israel as ""illegal outposts"".".
