Abstract:

 


The study was carried out with classroom teachers in order to determine how they thought themselves in using the methods and techniques in mathematics lessons and also their orders of preference. The data were collected with “Personal Information Form” prepared by the researcher and a form, developed by Soylu (2009) and consisting of very adequate, adequate and inadequate levels. The data were formed both by receiving the opinions of classroom teachers and evaluation of pre-service classroom teachers about the teachers of practice classroom in which they made an observation. The data of this study carried out with survey model were analyzed with SPSS 16. Percentage-frequency was used for evaluation of the data. Based on the obtained results, classroom teachers think themselves very adequate in ‘question-answer’ and ‘demonstration’ and adequate in ‘rules’ and ‘definitions’. When the methods and techniques that classroom teachers prefer most while teaching a subject in mathematics are examined, it is seen that they use ‘cooperative’, ‘direct instruction’, ‘question-answer’, ‘demonstration, ‘problem solving and posing’

Araştırma, sınıf öğretmenlerinin matematik derslerindeki yöntem ve teknikleri kullanma konusunda kendilerini nasıl gördükleri ve tercih sıralarını belirlemek amacıyla sınıf öğretmenleriyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve Soylu (2009) tarafından geliştirilen çok yeterli, yeterli ve yetersiz derecelerinden oluşan bir form ile toplanmıştır. Veriler, hem sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşleri alınarak hem de sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının gözlem yaptıkları uygulama sınıf öğretmenlerini değerlendirmeleriyle oluşturulmuştur. Tarama modeli ile yürütülen bu araştırma verileri SPSS 16 ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzde-frekans kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, sınıf öğretmenleri ‘soru-cevap’ ve ‘gösterip-yaptırma’da kendilerini çok yeterli; ‘kurallar’ ve ‘tanımlar’da yeterli görmektedirler. Sınıf öğretmenlerinin matematikte bir konuyu öğretirken en çok tercih ettikleri yöntem ve tekniklere bakıldığında ise; ‘işbirlikçi’, ‘düz anlatım’, ‘soru cevap’, ‘gösterip-yaptırma’ , ‘problem çözme ve kurma’yı kullandıkları görülmektedir.
