Abstract:

During the era of the French occupation, Algeria faced the worst and ugliest forms of colonialism throughout history, an occupation that bore all the heinous characteristics of occupier, settler, colonizer, missionary and fanatic, and finally erased the Algerian identity with all its cultural components. Therefore, the effects that this policy had on Algerian society were dire and deep-rooted, making the process of national struggle a battle for existence.
According to these challenges, the National Liberation Front included the field of media and communication among the means of confrontation, when it addressed the Algerian people with the November 1st statement, which was the first public communication act of the revolution. Then it was followed by other steps that were characterized in the first years of the revolution by lack of coordination and fluctuation, and after the "Somam" Conference on August 20, 1956. The means of work and propaganda were allocated to it, with the aim of keeping pace with armed action and supporting political action, as well as confronting the terrible media and propaganda machine of the French colonialists.
This article aims to shed light on the communication steps adopted by the National Liberation Front, and the resulting victories in conjunction with the obstacles and challenges encountered along the path to liberation.
