Abstract:

The idea of protecting cultural heritage has been shaped only by focusing on objects and structures for many years. With the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritageprepared by UNESCO in 2003, the understanding of cultural heritage changed and intangible cultural products were included in the scope of the heritage planned to be protected. Türkiye became a party to the said agreement in 2006. States parties to the Convention have various obligations to fulfill nationally and internationally. Listing studies, one of the most important of these obligations, are represented by provincial inventories at the national level. As of today, it appears that 1497 elements have been recorded in the national inventory, which was created based on provincial inventories. 15 of these elements are registered in the name of Mardin province. In the study focusing on these elements, the current status of the elements, the conservation activities carried out and the potential of Mardin province in terms of intangible cultural heritage were evaluated.

Bu unsurlardan on beş adedi Mardin ili adına kayıtlıdır. Bu unsurlara odaklanan çalışmada unsurların bugünkü durumu, yürütülen koruma faaliyetleri ile Mardin ilinin somut olmayan kültürel miras açısından potansiyeli değerlendirilmiştir.
