Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the digital data security awareness levels of university students in Kyrgyzstan. The research was carried out in the descriptive survey model. The population of the research consists of students studying at Manas University in the Spring Semester of the 2021-2022 Academic Year. The sample of the study consists of 312 students who continue their education at the same university and fill out the scale voluntarily. Based on the results obtained from the research; digital data security awareness of university students does not differ in terms of gender while digital data security awareness of university students differs statistically in terms of age. The difference is between 18-21 and 25-27 age groups, and it is in favor of students aged 25-27. The digital data security awareness of the students differs in terms of the educational background of the parents of the students. The level of digital data security awareness of the students with university graduate parents was higher than that of the students with parents who were primary school graduates. In addition, it was concluded that the students level of possession and use of digital devices and their digital literacy and digital data security awareness levels made a parallel progress.
