Abstract:

ABSTRACT:
The encyclopedia of Abu al-Abbas al-Muqri al-Tlemceni (d. 1041 AH / 1631 AD), known as: “Nafh al-Tayyb meen ghoceni al-Andalus el-Ratib”, is one of the most important compositions in the political, social, economic and cultural history of the Maghreb and Andalusia in the Islamic medieval period. Among the most notable notes on what Al-Maqri wrote and what distinguished his encyclopedia is this news of science and scholars, in which he was proficient as one of the medieval scholars who attested to excellence in this field. Among those who have been reported to us: the scholars of the Middle Maghreb in the Zeyani era (633-962 AH / 1235-1554 AD), We find some of them who have expanded it extensively, such as the family of Al-Maraziqa, including for example Ibn Marzuq, the grandfather famous for the Al-Khaib, and Ibn Marzuq the grandson, in addition to other scholars such as al-Muqri, the grandfather Abu Abdullah, Al-Abili and others, Some of them briefly translated it, such as Abu Abdullah Al-Zawawi and Abu Imran Al-Mashdali, while there is a third team that did not specialize with translation and only referred to them in the context of translations for other scholars, such as Yahya bin Khaldoun, Abu Abdullah Al-Tanasi, Ibn Qunfud Al-Casantini, Ibn Saad Al-Tlemceni and others, and it is worth mentioning Al-Maqri neglected some famous Ziyeni personalities, with translation and identification, such as Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Zaghou.
