Abstract:

 











The aim
of this study is to examine the beliefs, needs and expectations of primary
teachers about outdoor learning for gifted children. Phenomenology design, one
of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The study group
consists of five primary teachers working in Amasya. In the study,
semi-structured interview form was used and inductive analysis was used for
data analysis. Most of the teachers in the study group reported that they did
not usually plan or randomly plan the curricula for out-of-school activities in
addition to obtaining the necessary permissions from the institutions in
planning activities outside the school and conducting interviews with parents.
Some teachers think that gifted children are inconsistent during the trips and
do not follow the rules. The teachers stated that they used the question and
answer method to evaluate the activities carried out outside the school or
observed the social behaviors of the students after the trip. As a result of
the study, some needs and expectations of gifted students such as managing the
teaching process and curriculum planning for out-of-school teaching practices were
revealed. In future studies, it can be suggested to develop and implement
educational programs by considering the needs and expectations of teachers in
out-of-school teaching practices where gifted students are present.

Bu
çalışmanın amacı üstün yetenekli çocuklara yönelik okul dışı öğretim uygulamaları
hakkında sınıf öğretmenlerinin algı, ihtiyaç ve beklentilerini incelemektir.
Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Veri
toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından görüşme formu geliştirilmiş ve beş
sınıf öğretmeni ile yüz yüze görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde
edilen veriler tümdengelimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Yapılan analizler
sonucunda öğretmenlerin okul dışı öğretim deneyimleri, okul dışı müfredatın
planlanması ve değerlendirmesi, okul dışında üstünlerin eğitimsel ihtiyaçları,
okul dışı öğretimde kaynakların organizasyonu, yıllık planların işlevselliği,
okul dışı eğitimlerden beklentiler temalarına ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma grubundaki
öğretmenler okul dışında gerçekleştirilecek etkinliklerin planlanmasında
kurumlardan gerekli izinlerin alınması ve velilerle görüşmelerin
gerçekleştirilmesinin dışında gezilerle ilgili müfredatları genellikle
planlamadıklarını veya rastgele şekilde planladıklarını bildirmişlerdir. Bazı
öğretmenler geziler sırasında üstün yetenekli çocukların uyumsuz davrandığını
ve kurallara uymadıklarını düşünmektedirler. Çalışma sonucunda üstün yetenekli
öğrencisi bulunan öğretmenlerin okul dışı öğretim uygulamalarına yönelik
öğretim sürecini yönetme, müfredat planlama ve değerlendirme konusunda desteğe
ihtiyaç duydukları tespit edilmiştir. İleriki çalışmalarda üstün yetenekli
öğrencilerin bulunduğu okul dışı öğretim uygulamalarında öğretmenlerin ihtiyaç
ve beklentileri göz önüne alınarak eğitim programlarının geliştirilerek
uygulanması önerilebilir.
