Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the impact of agricultural exports on economic growth in the oil-producing Arab countries represented in Algeria, Libya, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman during the period 1990-2019 using the fixed effects model, and by taking the Agricultural exports as an independent variable and GDP as a dependent variable in addition to the total fixed capital formation, agricultural imports and agricultural labor, petroleum exports as control variables. The study concluded that there is a significant inverse relationship between agricultural exports, agricultural labor and GDP, and a positive direct relationship between total fixed capital formation, agricultural imports, oil exports and GDP despite the important capabilities that these countries possess, as the studies variables explain 94.78% of GDP in the studied sample, and the study recommended the need to diversify the economies of the oil-rich Arab countries to get rid of dependence on oil rents.
