Abstract:

Abstract:
This study examined the reality TV programs broadcast on Arabic TV channels and the damage that can be cast on the cultural identity of the Algerian young woman through shedding light on one of the real-life programs cloned from foreign programs, which is the "Beauty Match" broadcast on MBC 4 Channel by analyzing the content of some the program’s episodes. The study concluded that the "Beauty Match" program carries negative values that encourage young women to adopt Western opinions and beliefs far removed from the conservative Arab cultural identity through encouraging them to groom themselves and take care of the outward appearance and drag them away from all that is traditional, simple and modest.
