Abstract:

Fantastic; It can be defined as a narrative genre that contains some extraordinary things such as talismans, spells, legends, curses or good luck, and keeps curiosity and excitement alive by using metaphysics, gothic and darkness, unseen and unknown beings. It pushes the boundaries of the imagination by taking the reader out of the boundaries of the real world and into a world that is unknown and even unlikely to be accepted. It manages to attract the readers attention until the end of the text with its sense of fear and uncertainty. Considering that the sources of classical Turkish literature, which pushes the boundaries of the imagination to a certain extent, include metaphysical elements, the unknown, mysticism, spiritual worlds, as well as genres such as legends, epics and fairy tales, it is a fact that the use of fantastic elements is inevitable. One of the authors who benefited from these genres and themes is Firdevsî-i Rûmî, one of the 15th century classical Turkish literature poets and poets. He frequently used fantastic elements in his mixed verse and prose work called Süleymân-nâme-i Kebîr, consisting of 81 volumes. The journey of the hero named Sam-süvâr in the 11th, 12th and 13th volumes, which is the subject of this study, consists entirely of fantastic elements. In the article, first of all, brief information will be given about the fantasy narrative genre. Then, a brief summary of the plot in the mentioned volumes of Süleymân-nâme-i Kebîr will be given and a determination will be made about the fantastic themes in the story of Sam-süvâr. In the examples taken from the text, the folio numbers of the copy registered in the Topkapı Palace Museum Library, Treasury 1525 will be taken as basis and only the use of the letter of the month and length markings will be given in the transcription. Since the text is written in alphabets, the original spelling of the text will be adhered to in terms of spelling.
