 As transparency and accountability become increasingly important, the responsibilities of auditors regarding the continuity of businesses are specified by international regulations. The Independent Auditing Standard IAS 570 states that the life of a business is unlimited. Accordingly, a business must prepare its financial statements under the assumption that it will continue its activities in the foreseeable future. In assessing the continuity of a business, the auditor is responsible for obtaining audit evidence that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with the continuity principle. Another responsibility of the auditor is to reach a conclusion using the audit evidence obtained regarding whether there is a significant uncertainty regarding the continuity of the business. The purpose of this study is to investigate the explanation of such uncertainties and the preference of the auditors opinion within the scope of the relevant standard in the event of uncertainty regarding the continuity of the business. For this purpose, the auditor reports of financial institutions traded on Borsa Istanbul BIST between the years 2019-2023 were examined. As a result of the said examinations; It has been determined that most of the relevant provisions of the auditors opinions within the scope of IAS 570 are complied with in the event of significant uncertainties that may cast significant doubt on the entitys ability to continue as a going concern.

 Şeffaflık ve hesap verilebilirliğin her geçen gün daha da önem kazanması nedeniyle işletmelerin sürekliliği ile ilgili denetçilerin sorumluluğu uluslararası düzenlemelerle belirtilmiştir. Bağımsız Denetim Standardı BDS 570te işletmenin ömrünün sınırsız olduğu belirtilmiştir. Buna göre işletme finansal tablolarını öngörülebilir gelecekte faaliyetlerini sürdüreceği varsayımı altında hazırlaması gerekmektedir. Denetçi, işletmenin sürekliliğinin değerlendirmesinde; finansal tabloların süreklilik esasına uygun bir şekilde hazırlandığına ilişkin denetim kanıtı elde etmekle sorumludur. Denetçinin diğer bir sorumluluğu ise işletmenin sürekliliğine ilişkin önemli bir belirsizliğin mevcut olup olmadığı konusunda elde edilen denetim kanıtlarını kullanarak bir sonuca varmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; işletmenin sürekliliği konusunda belirsizlik olması durumunda, söz konusu belirsizliklerin açıklanmasını ve denetçi görüşünün tercihini ilgili standart kapsamında araştırmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, Borsa İstanbul BİSTda işlem gören mali kuruluşların 2019-2023 yılları arasındaki denetçi raporları incelenmiştir. Söz konusu incelemeler sonucunda; işletmenin sürekliliğinin devamına ilişkin ciddi şüphe oluşturabilecek önemli belirsizliklerin olması durumunda BDS 570 kapsamında denetçi görüşlerinin ilgili hükümlerin büyük bir kısmına uyulduğu tespit edilmiştir.
