Abstract:

The research aims to reveal an aspect of the world vision of the Libyan novelist Ibrahim al-Koni, a vision that dictated him to depict a person, in the narration of The Bleeding of the stone, in this way or that. In order to reach this end, the research benefited from the new criticism theses, which see that the texts of the writer, i.e. a writer, interpret each other, so what is ambiguous in this text finds its interpretation in another text of the same author. The approach to the bleeding of the stone was according to two axes: the first was the evil Cain who came from the north, and the second was the reclusive Bedouin Asouf. The research showed that the novelist proceeds from a mystical vision; It made him see stability in cities as a curse that kills, in man the soul; Therefore, Cain, the symbol of evil in the novel, was also the victim of this curse. On the opposite side, there is Asouf, the good Bedouin, the symbol of goodness in the novel, who deserves to be the offering of salvation, the deliverance of the earth from the curse; His death was the cause of the flood that would cleanse the earth from the curse.
