Abstract:

Aim: In the historical process from the first human to the present, various events have influenced and directed the lives of people. One of the events affecting the twenty-first century is the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this review is to explain whether the COVID-19 pandemic process is an existential threat or an opportunity, by dealing with the basic concepts of existential philosophy.
Method: National and international publications and books were examined from search engines in relation to the subject.
Conclusions and Recommendations: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented both threats and opportunities for all humanity, regardless of language, religion or race. For this reason, when we see the pandemic process as an element of opportunity to find meaning, to find answers to the questions we seek about our existence, to think at length about existential issues, to understand life and its value more, we will see that the perception of threat gets a little further away and our inner peace increases. Regardless of the situation we live in, our individual point of view and the meanings we attach to situations determine our attitude towards pain. In this respect, the meanings we attribute to the COVID-19 process will guide our lives.
