Abstract:

To reveal how the current surveillance is realized by using the social theory of Bauman is the purpose of the research. In terms of method, the technique of document analysis was applied. In the world we live in, it has been understood that surveillance is not compulsory and does not depend on the sovereignty of few, but in the do-it-yourself way happens voluntarily and it depends the surveillance of the majority over minority. Moreover, it has been understood that synopticon, whisch means the surveillance of the majority over minority, cannot be limited to celebrities, and even ordinary people share the things they eat and drink, and places they visit to make themselves visible. It has been determined that the existence of the masses does not hesitate to share even the most intimate things of being because it is not cogito anymore, but being visible. It has been understood that themasses should be made conscious through variouspublic spots and training programs in order to prevent damage to privacy. Moreover, it has been concluded that changing of the law along with digital world, and to be increased the legal regulations regarding the actions performed in the digital world will be important in protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals.
