Abstract:

This study examines the effect of a football match on the postural structures of footballers. The footballers of the Fırat University Football Club, which competes in the regional amateur football league, participated in the study voluntarily. Photographs of 18 footballers were taken before the match by using the posture analysis software. Photographs of 11 footballers who started the match in the First XI and 3 footballers who joined the match later were taken again after the match by using the posture analysis software. Photographs of the footballers taken from the front, left, back, and right sides were measured by the analysis program, and their curves according to the standard posture were determined in cm. Footballers' pre-match and post-match measurements of heads, shoulders, thoracic cages, buttocks, and knees were compared. SPSS 22.0 statistical software package was used to statistically analyze the obtained results. The analysis was conducted using the Paired Samples t-Test with a significance level of p<0.05 for the pre-test post-test comparisons, and no significant result was found Amateur footballers' body curves, which were determined by comparing their pre-match body posture measurements and the standard body posture, were measured again after a football match lasting 90 minutes. The results revealed that there was not a statistically significant change in the amateur footballer's body curves.
