Abstract:

This study has been prepared to determine turnover rate and to research reasons of turnover. Questionnaire” technique has been utilized to obtain data. The universe of the study consists of all hotels operating in Ankara. From which 52 of them has been sampled. Frequency tables, t test and ANOVA methods has been applied to analyze the data. In this study personnel turnover ratio has been analyzed by availability of orientation training, written job description and number of stars that hotels are assigned to determine differences. In the study, availability of comprehensive orientation training; whether there exist written job description and whether personnel turnover ratio differs, based on the number of stars that hotels are assigned has been investigated. The findings of the research has revealed that, personnel turnover ratio found to be lower in hotels where orientation training were provided to personnel a relative to those were not provided; and again relative to that of not exist. Furthermore, personnel turnover ratio found to be lower with high number hotels relative to that of low number star hotels. Based on these findings proposals has been developed to reduce employee turnover such as preparing a written job description and orientations training which should have priority over other means.
