Abstract:

Obedience, which means submission, is one of the basic characteristics of man, who is a responsible being. In this respect, man differs from the absolutely obedient angels and the devils who are rebellious to Allah. Obedience is used in the Qur'an as an expression of praise and reproach. In this context, obedience to Allah, his prophets and those in command was ordered, those who followed this order were praised, and those who rebelled were condemned.
In this study, the concept of obedience is discussed. In the Qur'an and Sunnah, the subject of obedience is emphasized, and answers are sought to the questions about what, to whom and under what conditions believers should or should not obey. In addition, the relationship network between these two groups has been discussed since the distinction between ulama and umera became clear.
