Abstract:

Since the economic reform programs adopted by Egypt, which are made by the International Monetary Fund and seeks.to strengthen it, include the liberalization policies of the economy such as: the policy of liberalization of foreign trade, liberalization of exchange rates, as well as interest rate liberalization, liberalization of wages and domestic prices ... etc.. This has sought economic reform programs in Egypt for the treatment of structural imbalances in the prices of goods and services to reflect the true cost of it, through the liberation of these prices, as well as the price of raw materials, and reduction of subsidies granted to it by the State Treasury as one of the items affecting the budget deficit and the associated by the indebtedness of the local. So increasing talk since the beginning of Egypt's application to its program of economic reform, the need to eliminate subsidies, in general - and directed to energy prices, in particular - and that estimated by some amount of more than 52 billion pounds per year , which constitutes a severe burden on the state budget. and The researcher since the focus of light here on the impact of the economic reform program on energy prices, of particular important in determining the standard of living of citizens - especially the low income including those who loaned the paper special attention - in the context of the goal of redistribution of income - in addition to the fact that energy is a commodity of interest to the final consumer and as an important production element can not the various activities in the national economy indispensable, and to its strong impact on the general level of prices. \.
