 Purpose: It was conducted to determine the experiences of mothers whose babies were in the neonatal unit. Materials and Methods: This research was conducted in a qualitative phenomenological design with mothers whose babies were treated in the 2nd level NICU of a public hospital in the Eastern Anatolia region between 1-31 December 2022. 12 mothers participated in the research. Data were collected by voice recording using one-on-one in-depth interview technique. Open-ended questions were asked to mothers about the feelings they felt, the problems they encountered and their needs during their babies admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care UnitNICU. The data obtained from the voice recordings were evaluated using the qualitative content analysis method. Results: It was determined that the mean age of the mothers participating in the study was 28.15.2 years and 41.6 of them gave birth by cesarean section. It was determined that all newborns were term and normal birth weight, 50 were treated for respiratory distress, and the average length of stay was 2.80.8. As a result of the content analysis, the main and sub-themes of the study; 1- Emotions Helplessness, Frustration, Anxiety, Anger, Longing, Sadness, Guilt, Inadequacy, Loneliness and Social İzolation 2- Problems Not being able to actively participate in the care of your baby,Fatigue and Insomnia, 3- Needs Being close to your baby and taking an active role in its care , Social support, Obtaining sufficient and complete information. Conclusion: It has been observed that mothers whose babies are treated in the neonatal intensive care unit experience negative emotions such as anxiety, disappointment and guilt, they need to be close to their babies, participate in care and information, and they expect closeness and support from health professionals. It is recommended that neonatal nurses approach mothers empathetically, ensure their participation in care, and exchange information regularly within the scope of their responsibilities.

 Amaç: Bebeği yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesindeYYBÜ yatan annelerin yaşadığı deneyimlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu araştırma nitel fenomenolojik tasarımda, 1-31 Aralık 2022 tarihleri arasında Doğu Anadolu bölgesinde bulunan bir devlet hastanesinin 2. düzey yenidoğan ünitesinde bebeği tedavi gören anneler ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya 12 anne katılmıştır. Veriler birebir derinlemesine görüşme tekniği ile ses kaydı alınarak toplanmıştır. Annelere bebeklerinin YYBÜnde yatışı sürecinde hissettikleri duygular, karşılaştıkları sorunlar ve gereksinimlerine yönelik açık uçlu sorular sorulmuştur. Ses kayıtlarından elde edilen veriler nitel içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan annelerin yaş ortalaması 28.15.2 olduğu ve 41.6sı sezeryan doğum yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Yenidoğanların tümünün term ve normal doğum ağırlığında olduğu, 50 sinin solunum sıkıntısı ile tedavi gördüğü ve ortalama yatış sürelerinin 2.80.8 gün olduğu belirlenmiştir. İçerik analizi sonucunda çalışmanın ana ve alt temaları; 1- Duygular Çaresizlik, Hayal kırıklığı, Kaygı, Öfke, Özlem, Üzüntü, Suçluluk, Yetersizlik, Yalnızlık ve Sosyal İzolasyon 2- Sorunlar Bebeğinin bakımına aktif katılamama, Yorgunluk ve Uykusuzluk, 3- Gereksinimler Bebeğine yakın olma ve bakımında aktif rol alma, Sosyal destek, Yeterli ve tam bilgi edinebilme olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Bebeği yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde tedavi gören annelerin kaygı, hayal kırıklığı, suçluluk gibi olumsuz duygular yaşadığı, bebeğine yakın olma, bakıma katılma ve bilgi gereksinimleri olduğu, sağlık profesyonellerinden yakınlık ve destek bekledikleri görülmüştür. Yenidoğan hemşirelerinin annelere empatik yaklaşması, bakıma katılımlarını sağlaması ve sorumlulukları dahilinde düzenli bilgi alışverişinde bulunmaları önerilmektedir.
