Abstract:

: Working parents with preschool children face different problems in childcare. This period, which is very important for the psychosocial and cognitive development of children, should be spent effectively for the healthy development of children. In this study, which was conducted using a phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, 15 parents were interviewed in order to find out what problems parents face in this period and what suggestions they have for solving these problems. The data collected through the interviews were analyzed using the MAXQDA 2020 package program. According to the data obtained from the research, two main themes were identified as information on childcare and service expectations. As a result of the research, it was concluded that most of the working parents had problems with childcare, and suggestions were made to solve these problems by increasing parental leave periods, providing flexible working opportunities, providing nursery services within the institutions where they work, and regulating nursery fees.
