Abstract:
All critics agree that the leadership in employing contextual approaches in modern Algerian criticism is reckoned to Abu Al-Qasim SaadAllah, who, owing to his scientific competence, was able to make a quantum leap in criticism, as he shifted it from the traditional model to the systematic/methodical modernist paradigm. The latter studies literary phenomena from a scientific perspective dependent on approaches, conceptual mechanisms tools. Thus, this article comes to raise the contextual approach issues- historical, social and psychological – which were used by SaadAllah to study literary texts, and reveal his terminological device that he came up with to interpret it.
