Abstract:

Babur Shah established the Baburid State in Northern India in 1526 and created a dynasty that continued to exist until the mid-19th century. While the Baburids united India under a central administration, many administrative and cultural changes also settled in the Indian subcontinent with them. While the Baburids became an eclectic structure as an Indo-Islamic state, the institution of princedom played an important role in the Baburid political life with an open-ended system. In this research, the Baburid inheritance system and the institution of princedom will be examined and its impact on the Baburid political life will be tried to be revealed. The influence of the princes on the Baburid expansion within the structure in which the Baburid elites were repositioned with the mansabdar system will be examined. In this research, the existing literature on this issue will be benefited from by referring to Baburid chronicles.
