 Developing countries are experiencing a rapid process of industrialization and growth . This industrialization process increases the use of fossil fuels in countries, destroys the natural environment and leads to a decrease in environmental quality. These environmental issues threaten public health and negatively impact health status indicators. Within this context, the study aims to examine the relationship between greenhouse gas emissions and life expectancy at birth for the Turkish economy using the 1990-2022 data set. In the study, the ADF unit root test was preferred for the stationarity test, and the ARDL bound test was preferred for the cointegration relationship. According to the results obtained, the long-term effects of health expenditures and carbon emissions on life expectancy at birth were found to be positive and significant.

 Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde hızlı bir sanayileşme ve büyüme süreci yaşanmaktadır. Bu sanayileşme süreci ülkelerde fosil yakıt kullanımını artırmakta, doğal çevreyi tahrip ederek çevresel kalitenin azalmasına yol açmaktadır. Yaşanan bu çevresel sorunlar ise toplum sağlığını tehdit ederek sağlık statüsü göstergelerinde olumsuz etkiler meydana getirmektedir. Bu kapsamda çalışmanın amacı 1990-2022 dönemi veri seti kullanılarak sera gazı salınımının doğuşta yaşam beklentisi ile olan ilişkisi Türkiye ekonomisi için incelenmiştir. Çalışmada durağanlık sınaması için ADF birim kök testi, eş bütünleşme ilişkisi için ise ARDL sınır testi tercih edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, uzun dönemde sağlık harcamalarının ve karbon emisyonunun doğuşta yaşam beklentisi üzerindeki etkisi pozitif ve anlamlı bulunmuştur.
