Abstract:

This study aimed to reveal the prevalent parenting styles in the era of digital transformation in Palestine, the extent of this transformation's impact on families, and to examine the relationship between parenting styles and the impact of digital transformation. It also investigated differences in respondents' perceptions based on demographic variables (age, education level, family type, and head of household's profession). The study adopted a descriptive correlational approach, administering an electronic questionnaire to a random sample of (400) Palestinian families in Ramallah. Results showed that democratic and accepting parenting styles were the most common, while authoritarian and overprotective styles were moderately prevalent. The study also revealed a high perception of digital transformation's impact on families, especially regarding parents' need for safe technology use and the importance of privacy. Furthermore, findings confirmed a statistically significant relationship between parenting styles (democratic, authoritarian, accepting) and the impact of digital transformation, alongside significant differences in parenting styles attributable to age, education level, family type, and head of household's profession.
