Abstract:

In this study, the village rooms identified in the Acıyurt village of Ulaş district, located approximately 42 km south of Sivas, were examined. Three village rooms were identified in the village located 25 km south of the district. Turkish period structures belonging to Ulaş district had the opportunity to be introduced in various publicationsÖz, 2022: 234-237; Yazar Çelemoğlu, 2020: 635-677; Karabulut Ay, 2020: 45-267 . However, upon examination, it was determined that the village chambers in Acıyurt village of Ulaş district were not included in the scope of any study carried out so far. For this reason, it is aimed to record the village rooms, one of which is out of use and two of which are still in use, through photographs and drawings and to introduce them to the world of Art History science. Village rooms, which are an important architectural reflection of Turkish folk culture, appear as architectural elements that have lost their functions and are about to disappear in many regions. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the Acıyurt Village Chambers, which are still standing today, from an architectural perspective, to determine their place in Turkish Folk Architecture and to give information about the importance of village chambers in Turkish culture.
