Abstract:

This study presents a set of basic pillars on which political science is based and which are still the subject of academic research and debate. These are the agents, units, motives, mechanisms, regimes, methods, and theories. This study argues that political science is evolving in nature due to its dependence on authority on the one hand, and its influence on social sciences on the other. Political science is open to other disciplines within the social sciences and humanities, unlike closed disciplines like law, philosophy, sociology, psychology and economics. The study argues that the openness of political science to other disciplines and its connection to the authority of politicians, members of parliament, and citizens developed the field in a way that benefits political science.
