Abstract:

Considering the meaning, dimension, and application of jihad it can be generally defined as struggling with life and property in the way of Allah. Jihad is one of the main issues that the Qur'an and Sunnah put emphasis on. Many studies have been conducted from the first period to the present day and rich literature has been created on the subject of jihad, which is both a theoretical and practical issue. In this research, the written literature on the field from the first centuries to the first half of the twentieth century will be discussed. In the current academic studies generally, Kitab al-jihad literature in the science of hadith and written jihad treatises in certain periods are examined. In this study, how the subject of jihad is handled in the science of fiqh, which deals with the reflection of Islamic provisions on taxpayers, which sect is more dominant in this writing area among the fiqh sects, in which centuries and centers the writing of jihad has been concentrated throughout history, etc. issues will be explored. In addition to this, a breakdown of the jihad literature, which was written as a treatise and book until the first half of the twentieth century, will be revealed as a whole.
