Abstract:

Modern sport, particularly football, stands out as a critical physical and cultural practice intertwined with broader societal issues, including identity, culture, and globalization The study of these intersections requires a multidisciplinary approach, where sociology examines the phenomenon through its principles and methods, focusing on the societal dimensions and implications of sports In contrast, motor praxeology, the science of motor behavior, critiques sociology's external perspective and presents itself as an alternative framework capable of delving into the intrinsic nature and structural specificities of sports
This paper aims to investigate the dynamic relationship between football—a globalized sports model shaped by the logic of capitalism—and identity, a multifaceted concept rooted in plurality By analyzing the contributions and intersections of sociology and motor praxeology, the study seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of how football serves as a medium for expressing, negotiating, and transforming individual and collective identities within the context of a globalized world.
