Abstract:

Abstract The aim of the research is to develop an Organization Depression Scale to measure the organization depression. First of all, items-pool, consisting of 55 items, was composed to delevop the Organization Depression Scale. It was reduced from 55 items to 45 items after the rewievs of seven experts. 300 teachers that work in different schools at Ankara city center and Gölbaşı town filled in draft the draft version of the scale including 45 items. According to the result of factor analysis, the items were collected under one factor except items with factor loadings are under .30. This factor explains for %38.3 of variance and it’s Cronbach-Alpha coefficient is 0.94. The Organization Depression Scale and the Malasch Burnout Inventory were administered to 35 of teachers to test the validity of tehe scale. The correlations between total scores of two scales were found .77. The Organization Depression Scale was administered to a group of teachers (n=35) for 3 weeks interval and the test-retest reliability coeffficent was found r =.91.
