Abstract:

This study attempts to prove that Karl Popper used one approach in science and politics, which is the rational critical discussion approach, which allows comparison between different theories and tries to discover which of the competing theories leads to better results. If the comparison between competing scientific theories in solving the problems at hand is done through an attempt to falsification through the appeal to empirical test, then the choice between philosophical and political theories is made by free rational discussion that subjects ideas, always and infinitely, to attempts to refute or reinforce, and by adopting the rules of rational criticism, as a way of thinking, but also in life, a way that relies on methods of invoking critical arguments, discovering mistakes and learning from them. This is what spares people the ravages of conflict and violence, as well as frees them from irrationality, which means believing that the greater part that governs a person is the irrational, that is, passions, emotions and feelings. The researcher also tries to prove that violence always leads to more violence, and that the rational reform is the only alternative to violence. Violent revolutions kill and destroy rebels like them, and the only survivors are skilled survival experts. What the revolution will lead to, with certainty, is the loss of freedom of criticism and opposition. Only in an open democratic society do we have the potential to address grievances. If we destroy the social order through a violent revolution, we will not only be responsible for the great sacrifices of the revolution, but also for the situation that makes the abolition of social evils, injustice and oppression, impossible. Therefore, it is necessary to work for a more rational society in which conflicts are resolved rationally, and by "more rational" we mean that there is no one hundred percent rational society, but there is always a more rational society than the existing society and we must all strive to strive towards it, and that This requirement is realistic, not Utopian.
