Abstract:

 

When languages are born to derive new words in their evolution process, they use different methods such as derivation, borrowing, combining, transmutation. Transmutation, which is one of these methods, is actually closely related to the grammaticalization process. One of the word types acquired by the method of grammaticalization in Turkish is postpositions. Postpositions are words that can be both complement in syntax and governor in their own phrase structure. These governor positions of postpositions allow them to be determinative and limiting against their complements within the phrase. The co-occurence and frequency values of the phrases formed by the postpositions with their complements cause them to evolve into a single word position beyond forming a phrase with certain complements. This situation, which is mentioned in Old Turkic, is present in the syntax by establishing various semantic relations with the exemplary postposition complements teg. The postposition teg is one of the most frequently used postpositions of Old Turkic. Starting from Orkhon Turkish, it is possible to see secondary postpositions, primary postpositions, and the phrases it forms with adjective, adverb and conjunction functions. It is possible to see the structures of antag, muntag, mutag, antag and neteg, which are some of the postposition phrases that he created, in different functions in the grammaticalization phase. It is also very important in terms of multifunctionality that these structures, which are frequently used in the sources of Old Turkic, are seen in many different functions simultaneously. In this sense, in this study, the different functions of the phrases formed by the postposition teg are discussed with witnesses from the texts.

 

Diller kendi evrim süreci içerisinde yeni sözcükler türetmek için doğduğunda türetme, ödünçleme, birleştirme, işlev değiştirme gibi farklı yöntemler kullanır. Bu yöntemlerden biri olan işlev değiştirme aslında dil bilgiselleşme süreci ile de yakından ilgilidir. Türkçede dil bilgiselleşme yöntemi ile kazanılmış sözcük türlerinden biri de edatlardır. Edatlar istem bilgisinde, söz dizim içerisinde hem tamlayıcı hem de kendi öbek yapıları içerisinde yönetici olabilen sözcüklerdir. Edatların bu yöneticilik konumları, öbek içerisinde tamlayıcılarına karşı belirleyici ve sınırlayıcı olabilmesine imkân verir. Edatların tamlayıcıları ile oluşturduğu öbek yapıların eş kullanımlılıkları ve sıklık değerleri onların belirli tamlayıcılar ile öbek yapı oluşturmanın ötesinde tek bir sözcük konumuna evrilebilmesine yol açar. Eski Türkçede bahsedilen bu durum örnekleyen teg edatı tamlayıcıları ile çeşitli anlam ilgileri kurarak söz dizimde varlık gösterirler. Teg edatı Eski Türkçenin en sık kullanılan edatlarından biridir. Orhun Türkçesinden itibaren sözcük olarak ikincil edat, birincil edat ve oluşturduğu öbek yapıları ise sıfat, zarf ve bağlaç işlevleriyle görmek mümkündür. Oluşturduğu bazı edat öbeklerinden antag, muntag, mutagın, antagıŋın ve neteg yapılarını dil bilgiselleşme evresinde farklı işlevlerde görmek mümkündür. Eski Türkçenin kaynaklarında sıkça kullanılan bu yapıların, eş zamanlı olarak birçok farklı işlevde görülmesi de çok işlevlilik açısından da oldukça önemlidir. Bu anlamda çalışmada teg edatının oluşturduğu öbek yapıların farklı işlevleri metinlerden tanıklarla ele alınmıştır.
