Abstract:

The Organization of Turkic States OTS is situated at the heart of a strategic geography encompassing Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Türkiye, making it a critical hub for energy corridors, natural resources, and trade routes. However, this region also faces significant security challenges, including power struggles, terrorism, migration, border violations, and hybrid threats. In this context, strengthening military cooperation within the OTS could play a vital role in enhancing regional stability and building the defense capacities of its member states. Türkiye possesses robust capabilities to support member states in areas such as defense industries, military training, healthcare, and culture. Positioned within the competitive landscape of global powers like Russia, China, and the United States, the Turkic World can present a stronger stance against these dynamics through effective and institutionalized cooperation. The OTS can deepen collaboration among member states and promote regional development through regular dialogue and joint projects. Collaboration initiated in specific areas has the potential to evolve into more comprehensive and stronger political alliances over time. This study examines the challenges and opportunities faced by the OTS, using international theories and statistical analyses to propose strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing military and economic cooperation.
