Abstract:

The textile and ready-made apparel sector (TRMAS) is an indispensable sector in terms of our country's industrial product production capacity, with its success in exports and the level of employment created. When the export figures of 2019 are examined, it can be seen that an average of 30billionwasexportedintheTRMASsector.Sinceourtotalexportinthesameyearwas180billion30billionwasexportedintheTRMASsector.Sinceourtotalexportinthesameyearwas180billion 30 billion was exported in the TRMAS sector. Since our total export in the same year was 180 billion , it can be determined that it is the locomotive of the country's economy with a 17% share [1]. However, in order to ensure sustainability, the high raw material, energy and especially labor costs of the enterprises operating in the sector should be reduced.
In order for production to be efficient and at the desired level of competitiveness, the raw materials, labor and machinery equipment used must be transferred to the process with the highest level of efficiency and low cost. According to the researches in the literature, on average, 50% -60% of the apparel product cost consists of fabric and accessories, 30-35% is labor and 10-15% is general production expenses. This study focused on reducing labor costs i.e. the second largest cost reserve. Within this framework, gabardine fabric-based classic trousers production lines of four companies with different machine parks, workforce capacities and production volumes were examined and the effect rates of the parameters on the unit cost of the product were determined. This paper tried to reveal the relations between sewing automats and high-tech machines used in the sewing line with the unit labor time, labor productivity, production figures, labor costs and manufacturer profitability in total. Based on our findings necessary suggestions were made to the sector representatives.
