Abstract:

This study was conducted to reveal the financial experiences of individuals operating in the cultivated mushroom sector in Isparta province. The research was conducted using a qualitative research method, where a semi-structured interview form was prepared, and face-to-face interviews were held with 10 participants engaged in the button mushroom sector in Isparta. The research design was determined as phenomenology and case study. A purposive sampling method was used to select the participants. The data obtained from the participants were subjected to content analysis, and the MAXQDA 20 software was utilized to visualize the findings. The research findings revealed that participants were drawn to the button mushroom sector for various reasons such as income, additional income, recommendations, and high earnings. It was identified that participants financed their initial costs through various methods, including grants, loans, and borrowing. Additionally, it was found that the financial income derived from button mushroom farming satisfied participants to varying degrees. The most significant operational cost in the button mushroom cultivation process was determined to be the compost raw material. Furthermore, the identified risks included high inflation, defective or diseased purchased compost, low competition, and reduced yield.
